Summary
The FLEX4FACT project officially started on June 1st 2022 and will run for 42 months. A hybrid kick-off meeting held on June 16th and 17th brought together 23 organisations from 5 European countries representing the consortium. During the meeting, partners had the opportunity to introduce their competences and skills and to discuss and validate an action plan for the upcoming weeks and months of the project. With the successful launch, the partners can now start implementing the project.
The FLEX4FACT project aims to develop an end-to-end ecosystem based on a modular and multi-level architecture to enable flexible manufacturing in industries and create the conditions for the necessary energy transition in energy intensive industrial sectors.
To officially launch the FLEX4FACT project, the kick-off meeting was held on 16 and 17 June in Barcelona. During the meeting, partners had the opportunity to introduce their competences and skills and to discuss and validate an action plan for the upcoming weeks and months of the project. With the successful launch, the partners can now start implementing the project.
After the project coordinator from SINTEF Manufacturing had welcomed all participants, each of the 23 project partners had the opportunity to introduce themselves and their competences. The project coordinators then gave an overview of the project, the motivations and visions behind it and the project goals and impacts.
Then they gave an insight into the project management (WP8) and its most important components such as the project handbook and a gender action plan etc. as means for smooth execution of the project.
This was followed by the individual work package introductions, in which an overview of the WPs, the objectives, main deliverables, participating partners and responsibilities and actions for the first year were given. Afterwards there was an open discussion about WP interactions, milestones, engagement mechanisms.
Thanks to this successful kick-off the partners can now start implementing the work in the project and accelerate the digital and energy transformation of the industrial sector in Europe
