ENLIT 2025 in Bilbao

FLEX4FACT at ENLIT Europe 2025: Three Days of Exchange, Insights and Collaboration in Bilbao

From 18–20 November 2025, the FLEX4FACT Project joined the ENLIT Europe conference in Bilbao, Spain: an important gathering for Europe’s energy community, bringing together industry, research, and policy experts to discuss the transformation towards a flexible, efficient and decarbonised energy system.

Day 1: Connecting with the ENLIT Community

The event started with an energetic first day in Hall 5 at the EU Project Zone, where FLEX4FACT tpartners welcomed visitors to the project booth. Participants were invited to enjoy snacks, learn about the project’s objectives, and discuss topics such as energy flexibility, EU-funded research, and the challenges of decarbonising energy-intensive industries.

Visitors also had the chance to win one of our exclusive solar-powered FLEX4FACT power banks, which attracted interest throughout the day.

In addition, guests were encouraged to explore four other energy-related EU projects in which our project partner Steinbeis Europa Zentrum plays an active role — strengthening collaboration and cross-project exchange across the European innovation landscape.

Day 3: A Successful Wrap-Up

The final day of ENLIT Europe allowed the team to reflect on three days packed with:

  • insightful talks,
  • inspiring conversations,
  • productive meetings with companies from energy-intensive industries,
  • and a wide range of new professional connections — and even new friendships.

The level of interest and engagement from visitors clearly demonstrated the relevance of energy flexibility, digitalisation, and cross-sector collaboration for Europe’s industrial transition.

With so many meaningful discussions and new contacts, ENLIT Europe 2025 was undoubtedly a great success for FLEX4FACT.

Thank You

A warm thank you goes to everyone who visited our booth, took part in discussions, and helped share FLEX4FACT project results. We especially thank our partners for their strong presence and contributions throughout the event.

Day 2: FLEX4FACT on Stage

The second day of ENLIT Europe was marked by a clear highlight:
Maria Herrando Zapater presented FLEX4FACT during the special session on flexibility and interoperability for energy-intensive industries in the EU Projects Zone Hub (Theatre 2).

Her presentation and the subsequent panel discussion offered valuable insights into how FLEX4FACT is developing new solutions to improve the flexibility and interoperability of industrial systems.

Maria received strong support on site from colleagues at SINTEF, Standard Profil Group and Steinbeis Europa Zentrum, who contributed to discussions and engaged with participants throughout the day.

The team also used the opportunity to maintain and strengthen collaborations — including with our sister project Trineflex, located at the booth right next to ours.
